Anacapa hosts the
largest breeding colony of the Western gulls in the world. These birds
begin building their nests at the end of April. After growing up,
their babies fly away from the nest in July. Their mother instinct
urges them to protect their eggs, and therefore, once a while they
pretend to attack hikers in an attempt to scare them away. When I was
taking picture there, my head was knocked by different gulls twice.
Next time I will wear a helmet.
