Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta started in 1972. At first there were just a few balloons and no one expected that later this seemingly trivial game organized by a few hobbyists could expand to be a world renowned event. In the second balloon festival the police station sent just one and only one police officer to maintain the order, and needless to say, the flood of participants overwhelmed the policeman.
