In October the decommissioned Space
Shuttle Endeavor took its final mission in Inglewood, California. It was
hauled from Los Angeles Airport to California Science Museum at 2-mile
per hour on October 12 and 13. The entire journey was 12 miles only, but
the city had to remove numerous trees and lamp poles in order to let the
Shuttle go through the city streets. You may wonder why I presented just
a few photos here. On Oct 12 I had circled around the streets in Inglewood for an hour
but still could not find any parking space. On Oct 13 when I arrived at the
first stop of the route before the scheduled viewing time, the security
told me that the shuttle had left earlier than the original plan. I ran
to the second stop but there were hundred thousands of viewers. Needless
to say, it was impossible to get closer to the shuttle or to obtain a
better perspective. Some smart people parked far away and rode there by
bicycle, and some got there by motorcycle. And I walked 2 miles (one-way) with
three camera and four lenses! This is the best I can do.
