The Jet Propulsion
Laboratory (JPL), located in Pasadena, California, is a research
and development center specific for NASA missions. Its research projects
include, but are not limited to, planetary robotics and Mars rollers. In the past
public tours were available on a monthly basis, but now it offers open house
just once a year. On the open house day I arrived at Pasadena around 10:00 am
but the traffic was already badly jammed. I parked the car in a residential area
and then walked a few miles to the destination. The event was so popular that
by noon JPL no longer accepted walk-ins. I learned a lot about astronomy and space
technology in those exhibitions and demonstrations. The photos posted here are
for their aesthetical values; they are not intended for documentary.
