Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is a non-profit organization in Ramah, New Mexico. Its mission is to provide a sanctuary for displaced and unwanted wolves, wolf-dogs, and other related species. In other words, the wolves in the sanctuary are not really wild animals. Rather, they were treated as exotic pets before but their former owners gave them up after they found that wolves could not be trained to behave as dogs (Did they know that wolves and dogs are different?).

Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary offers photography tours, in which the photographer could go behind the fence to take close-up pictures. Is it dangerous? No. Contrary to the popular belief, wolves are not cruel animals; usually they do not attack humans unless someone does something very stupid (e.g. yellowing or throwing objects). Rather, they are shy and tend to walk away when humans try to approach them.
