During the performance two long pieces of silk dangled from the top of a metal frame. Two girls shimmied up the two pieces of silk, respectively, and wrapped it around their bodies as they played acrobatics. The official name of this type of performance is rope acrobatics, but in my view it is more poetic to call the show "silk acrobatics." I like silk acrobats a lot due to its similarity to the flying girls appeared in the wall paintings of DunHuang, China. Obviously, both types of flying girls flew with long pieces of silk.
