The
Horse Tail Fall of Yosemite
National Park is sometime known as the Fire Fall. The phenomenon of
fire fall
can be seen for a few weeks in February if several conditions are met.
First,
the water is flowing. Second, it is a sunny day. This rare phenomenon
happens
when the setting sun shines the waterfall ablaze, like a string of fire
falling
down the cliffs of El Capitan. I went there two evenings. In the first
evening
the Fire Fall show was on but in the second evening the sky was cloudy.
Needless to say many visitors and photographers were disappointed.
The
color of these photos
are presented AS IS. Its hue or saturation is not altered in PhotoShop
or any
post-processing software. These photos look different because they were
taken
at different time points with two cameras (Nikon D800 and Sony A7).
Around 5:00
pm the fire fall appeared to be golden and around 5:15 it turned to
purple.
The last two photos at
the bottom were taken in the same area during the day.
