Biosphere II is an experiment
conducted in the 1990s for exploring the possibility of creating a
self-sufficient environment that could support human lives during
long-term space travel. Today Biosphere II changed its mission to study
other science topics, such as climate change. There are several different
climate zones manipulated by the scientists in Biosphere II, such as the
simulated tropical rain forest. The first three photos were taken inside
the rain forest. I had to make the shot quickly because exposing the
cameras to moisture would definitely be detrimental to the electronics.
The lower two are close-up pictures of flowers taken in the Desert Museum.
I have a regular zoom lenses with the macros feature. I could not do a
good job in sharpness anyway, and thus I employed soft focus instead.
