The
Keyhole Arch at Pfeiffer Beach, Big Sur, California, is well-known for
its “heavenly”
light beam during sunset. However, the “window” of viewing this amazing
seascape
is very narrow. It only occurs a few weeks before and after the Winter
Solstice
(It is December 21 in 2016). Needless to say, the sunset period lasts
only
about 20-25 minutes.
Although
the site is hidden (there is no sign at the entrance), many people
manage to find
the location. Unless you arrive at the beach very early, choosing the
best perspective
is out of question. Nonetheless, I am satisfied with my photos even
though at
that time I stood at the side of the arch.
