Ha Long Bay is a UNESCO
World Heritage Site in Quang Ninh
Province, Vietnam. In 2011 it was voted by people around the globe as
one of
the new Seven Natural Wonders of the World. There are 1,969
limestone-based
islands and rocks in the bay, and thus it takes at least two to three
days to browse around the bay. By appearance Ha Long Bay is similar to
Guilin in
China. There is a saying in China about Guilin: “Guilin’s hills and
water are
the best under heaven.” However, in my humble opinions Halong Bay is
even better than Guilin.
Michael Wysession, a Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at
Washington
University, also rated Ha Long Bay above Guilin.
