Many people are familiar with the legend of
"the Sleeping beauty," which was published in 1697 by Charles Perrault.
"Sleeping beauty" became a household name after Walt Disney made a movie
based on this fairy tale in 1959. There are three good fairies in the
Disney version of "the Sleeping Beauty." They are called Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. Flora is the leader of the group and is always dressed in
red. In Phoenix Faerie Festival many fairies appeared in a cluster of
three and many of them decorated themselves with plants (flora), but just
a very few dressed in red.
