There are different names for this type of photography: Vintage, antique, and nostalgic. Vintage photography is associated with film-based photography, especially the earliest prints (e.g. sepia). Generally speaking, the photographic motif is treated as “vintage” if it is a few decades old. If it is more than a century old, we call it “antique.” While the terms “vintage” and “antique” are neutral, “nostalgic” has an emotional connotation that involves a memorable era and a positive feeling of those “good old days.”
