Many people misidentify Goosenecks as
Horseshoe Bend in
Page, Arizona. But if you look closely, they are different.
Goosenecks State Park is made of a rare geologic formation called
entrenched meander. As the name implies, Goosenecks twisted the
flow of a river. The San Juan River flows for more than six miles
through Goosenecks and eventually the water goes into Lake Powell.
To show the full view of Goosenecks, the best way is aerial
photography, of course. Unfortunately, I am not a pilot and these
pictures are the best I can do..
