On January 16,
2014 when I woke up, I saw a forest fire
outside my window. The wildfire erupted around 5:50 am when three young
men
made a camp fire in the wrong palce at the wrong time. The fire spread
rapidly and at some point it was just about a
mile away from my community. My wife and
I packed some of our important things into the car and were ready to
evacuate.
Fortunately, the fire was contained owing to the diligence of 700
firemen. However,
1,906 acres of the forest and 5 houses were destroyed. |
