The Walt Disney Concert Hall, built in 1992 and completed in 2003, was characterized by an array of shiny panels. However, some residents in the area were bothered by the sunlight reflected off these panels. The metallic panels substantively raised the temperature, as a result, it caused the air-conditioning costs of these residents to skyrocket. In 2005 the problematic panels were modified to reduce the glare. Nevertheless, I took some photos of the concert hall in 2004 (Page 1, Page 2, Page 3).
