Title |
Can I cross from here to there? |
Location |
Japanese Garden (Ro Ho En), Phoenix, Arizona |
Date |
2007 October |
Artist |
Chong Ho (Alex) Yu |
Notes |
Himeji, a city in Japan, became a sister city of Phoenix in 1976.
The Garden is a product of a shared cultural vision. Constructing a Japanese garden in a desert is
challenging, yet the 50 architects from Japan made it a reality in 1987!

Title
|
Round |
Notes
|
The roundness of these pebbles, as you know, is resulted from being
submerged into slow running water. Cultures work in the same way. |

Title |
Inside the the triangles |
Notes |
I "gave away" the trick of composition by using the above explicit title.
The triangle is implied by three circles: two rocks and the reflection
of the Sun. |

Greens and Gold in 3 |
Notes
|
Again, I gave away the composition. Can you find the three
green lines that counterbalance the three gold fishes? |

Title |
Golden opportunity |
Notes |
It takes a while for me to wait for the opportunity that several
gold fishes formed a straight line from the rock to the shore. It is
literally a "golden opportunity. |

|
Modern and classic
|
Notes |
The park is located in the heart of urbanized Phoenix. While most
photographers may hide the modern buildings, I think modernity and
tradition can coexist side by side. |
