The Empire

     Strikes back!

Location

   Seattle, Washington

Date

   October 2007

Artist

   Chong Ho (Alex) Yu

Notes

While making the movie Star War: The Empire Strikes Back, George Lucas was inspired by the cranes in Seattle. The "tanks" used by the Empire were actually modeled after the Seattle terminal cranes.

The Tiny

  Space Needle

Location (top)

   Olympics Sculpture Park

Location (right)

   Pacific Science Center

Notes

Space Needle, the landmark of Seattle, is by no means a "needle." (Why isn't it named "Space Tower" like CN Tower in Toronto?) A needle should not be huge and spacious, and so I took these two photos to express the "essence" of a needle.

Color and

B&W

Location

   Museum of Flight, Seattle

Notes

The photos at the top and on the right hand side were parts of two airplanes. Pictures of airplanes are supposed to depict a sense of grandness, but on some occasions I like "micro-views."
