It's crucial to note that the current portrayal of Middle Earth didn't exist in its present state originally. Following an agreement between Jackson and the owners of the farmland, the transformation of a section of the farm into sets for Hobbiton began in 1999. The renovation involved constructing facades for 37 hobbit holes along with their associated gardens and hedges, a mill, and a bridge. A tree was even cut down and reconstructed with artificial leaves.
