Quite a few new structures in Phoenix adopted an architecture style called the Shadow Walk. For example, the Orange Mall at Arizona State University, Tempe Campus, Mesa Arts Center, and Skysong. As the name implies, the Shadow Walk is characterized by a series of horizontal fabric shade sails between buildings. In my opinions, this structures might be designed for aesthetical values rather than practical purposes, because the shade cannot help much in cooling down the walk way. Nonetheless, it creates opportunities for photography.
