Cathedral Gorge State Park is located in Southeastern Nevada, which was formed by erosion in the soft bentonite clay. Like many other geological wonders, volcanic activities played a major role in its formation. After many eruptions, multiple layers of thick ash deposited on the ground and erosion carved the clay into these cathedral-like spires.
