Mossy Cave is located in the Northern section of Bryce National Park. Actually the cave is a grotto. By late fall (around November) hanging icicles begin to form at the ceiling of the cave as water seeps through the rock. Sometimes these icicles last through June, but due to global warming its duration became unpredictable. The best bet is to go there in winter. The last two photos show the water canyon constructed by Mormon pioneers between 1890-1892. In summer this canal looks just like any ordinary creek, but in winter the frozen river give you a sense of serenity. Please remember that you need a pair of spikes on your shoes to hike there.
