Salton sea in California is one of the kind. The "beach" of
this inland salty "sea" is not made of sand. Actually, the sand-like
materials are shells. If you walk on the beach with bare feet, it will
hurt you. The water is so rich in minerals that colorful "ponds" could
be found everywhere near the shore.
