Believe it or not, the design of vintage gas pumps was highly influenced by the Art Deco Movement, which is also known as “style modern.” This movement in the decorative arts and architecture originated in the 1920s. During the 1930s it spread across Western Europe and the US. As you can see in vintage gas pumps, Art Deco objects have a smooth, linear, and geometric structure.
