The
trip was not as smooth as what we initially expected. Usually in
the Territory of Cheung's Family there are only five snowing days
per year, but in late 2010 and early 2011 the entire globe
suffered from extreme weather, and China was not exceptional. Many
roads were blocked by thick snow and became impassable. As a
result, the tour bus was forced to turn back to where we started.
We had prepared for the worst: pack the cameras and go home.
After waiting for a day, the roads started clearing up. Although
we managed to arrive at the Territory of Cheung's Family, the
shuttles inside the park were out of service and thus many sites
were inaccessible. In order to improve traction, we had to wear
anti-slippery shoes. However, anti-slippery shoes were in short
supply and thus each person could wear an anti-slippery shoe on
either the left foot or the right foot.
