Coyote Buttes North, also known as "the Waves," is located at
Vermillion Cliffs National Monument, Arizona. Many people want to
see this stunning landscape, but it is extremely difficult
to get there. First, in order to preserve this group of fragile
sandstones, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) sells only 20 permits per day
to hikers. Second, the place is not well-marked, and there are absolutely no services
or no facilities. In other words, you are literally on your own. The whole hiking trip took 7 hours and our group was
disoriented. Is it worth the risk? The
