Colorful park in the city

Nan Liang Garden

Rock in the garden

Nan Lian Garden, which was built according to the style of the Tang Dynasty, is a joint-venture between the Buddhist group Chi Lin Nunnery and the Hong Kong Government. I was very impressed by the openness of the Hong Kong government and people. In America it is impossible for the government to sponsor a religious organization to build a public park with notable religious icons. Unlike many other Buddhist temples, Nan Lian is located in the city of Diamond Hill rather than in a remote site. Nevertheless, the view of a garden and tall buildings side by side makes a profound statement. What have we done to our living environment?
