Standing at an elevation of 10,023 feet (3,055 meters), the current summit height reflects a decrease from its estimated peak of 15,000 feet (4,572 meters) above sea level due to erosion. Haleakalā National Park offers diverse landscapes, from the expansive crater to the lush Kipahulu Valley.

Notably, Haleakalā's summit often pierces through cloud cover, creating a unique atmospheric experience. Despite cloudy weather at lower elevations, perseverance can reveal a brilliant blue sky and radiant sun upon reaching the summit.
