Tonto Natural Bridge, which is located near Payson, Arizona, is the
world's largest natural travertine bridge. The bridge is 183 feet
high and the tunnel is 400 feet long. However, due to the budget
crisis in the state of Arizona, many state parks have been scheduled
to partially or completely close. Fortunately, the Town of Payson
agreed to assist financially in keeping that park open until
September 27, 2010. I had visited Tonto Natural Bridge a few years
ago. Recently I went there again, because after September 27, 2010,
the future of the park remains uncertain.
