Mystery Valley is a part of Monument Valley. It is so named because it is not open to unguided tourists. In order to explore this hidden part of the valley, you must hire an experienced Navajo tour guide who knows how to un-entangle a 4X4 vehicle in case the car is trapped. Indeed, it happens several times during our tour. The ride on the dirt roads is as bumpy as a roller coaster, but you will be amazed by the ancient ruins, rock art, and arches along the route. Tear Drop Arch is the most photographed icon of the valley, but when I moved back, Tear Drop Arch became Elephant Rock.
