There are three clusters of white hoodoos in Grand Staircase
Escalante. If you go inside the area from Page, Arizona, the best
cluster will be seen last. The so-called "trail" is nothing more
than a dry wash. Between the hoodoos and the wash, there are many
dense tamarisk trees. It takes a while to find a way to approach
the hoodoos. I made a mistake by wearing a pair of sandal-like,
light-weight hiking shoes, and the slick rocks on the wash really
hurt my feet.
